Again staff at London Road Sports centre have decided that the all weather Athletics Track is closed this evening due to snow and ice.
Apologies, but this out of our hands.
Hopefully the forecast is favourable for the next couple of days and that a thaw will remove any ice.
At the moment, we believe that the indoor training at the High School will go ahead as usual.

Shropshire Young Athletes League 3/4, Wenlock
Round three of the Shropshire Young Athletes Cross Country League took the clubs youngsters to Much Wenlock where a fast course awaited.
Again the club saw a number of debutants don the blue and amber club vest, joining the already established and competitive squad.
Harry Dowley and Joe Timmis joined up with the strong u11boys squad, with 7 SAC runners taking to the start line. A relatively flat 2 lap course produced a fast race from the off, Harry and Fergus Stevens sticking with the early pace. With the other 5 boys grouped closely together the teamwork was again evident. Harry marked a very impressive debut to finish comfortably in 5th place, with Fergus next home in 15th after a sprint to secure his position. Shrewsbury secured second team on the day due in part to the tight packing which saw Joe Timmis, Archie Hale and
Lloyd Humphreys in 19th, 20th and 21st places. Rhys Humphreys and Seb Westwood in 31 & 33rd places finished the race strongly again.
Francesca Scott joined up with Maya Richardson in the U11girls race, with both girls sticking to their task well throughout. With a breakaway of 8 runners taking on a very keen pace, the girls were highly competitive in the chasing group. Francesca secured a great 9th place on her first race for the club, with Maya picking off 2 runners with a strong run in for 14th place.
Four athletes lined up for the u13boys race with intentions of continuing a fine season so far.
Again the talented Telford team took the pace on, comfortably securing the top three places. With a decisive move on the hill climb the team was led home by Luke Howes in 7th, stealing 2 vital positions with his move. Ross Kirby again backed up the move for 10th and with the Turner twins, Freddie & Tom in 11th & 12th the team was home with a flourish for 2nd team and a valuable result for the end of season competition.
Katharine Smith has taken on the mantle of flag bearer in the U13girls competition this season.
After a fine win at the Shrewsbury Schools competion earlier in the week, she ran a great race to secure 5th place. Lying in a group of athletes to 10th position entering the large lap, Katharine made a move to break away and was strong going uphill to secure her position & reward her confident move.
With George Speakman missing through injury, Ryan Cullen ably stepped up to support Ben Ashcroft with a fine 3rd place. Ben, back to form, was clear winner after running conservatively at the head of the pack before winding up his pace. Cullen stuck onto the back of his second placed rival from Oswestry as the top 3 ran away from the chase group.
Migel Dixon, another new face in the team was our first U17 runner for some time. After taking the race on early, Migel faded to 5th place in the longest race of the day, which took the hill climb in twice after 3 flat laps! A tough debut indeed, but a determined run nevertheless, there’s clearly loads more to come from Migel.
Chloe Everall and Emily Mitchell were again the first in action as both girls took to the startline in the U15girls event. Mitchell again was first back for the club, running an even pace for the first lap before working through the field to earn 10th place. Returning from injury Chloe determinedly stuck with the race to finish 15th place.
Going into the final fixture of the series, there is plenty to compete for. Ben Ashcroft is again in with a great chance of individual honours and also his U15 team are currently in silver position.
The Boys U13 team and Girls 15's are also in medal contention, and with a final push there is a chance the ever strengthening U11boys could muscle into the medals too.
Well done to all the athletes, its clear that the hard work put in on Monday sessions are starting to pay off.

The women’s race was won by Shrewsbury Athletic Club’s Welsh International Anna Bartlett, with Juliet Hoad of Telford Athletic Club 2nd and Cathy Williamson Unattached 3rd.
Mark Agnew, General Manager at Attingham Park, said:” Thank you to Shrewsbury Athletic Club and all our sponsors and to all the National Trust Team for making this such a successful occasion. It has proved to be a fantastic day out for runners and their families, with money raised going towards the restoration of the walled garden.”
