Eight Shrewsbury AC Under 11 athletes were in the Shropshire team which competed at the Under 11 Fun in Athletics Regional Festival at Coventry Sports and Leisure Centre on 23rd January 2011.
Jessica Clarkson, Eleanor Fox, Emily Carter, Francesca Scott, Katie Dixon, James Yewbrey, Harry Dowley and Jack Hall took part in track and field events against strong teams from Birmingham, Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Hereford & Worcester and The Black Country.
The Shropshire Boys team finished in 4th place overall and the Girls were 3rd overall.
There were top performances in the field events from Jessica - 2nd in the Standing Triple Jump 5m 48cms, Eleanor - 3rd in the Chest Push 6m 00 and 4th equal in the Speed Bounce 52, James - 5th Chest Push 7m 00 and Jack 5th equal Balance Test.
Five young Shrewsbury AC athletes are in the Shropshire Under 13 team travelling to Worcester on 6th February to compete in the West Midlands Regional Sportshall Finals.
