Shrewsbury Athletic Club’s talented fell runner and Welsh
International, Anna Bartlett has been concentrating her efforts
recently outside the County, on the International mountain running
scene and English Fell Running Championships. On the International
scene, she was once again selected to run for Wales in the World Long
Distance Mountain Running Challenge in Slovenia, continuing her
excellent form, finishing 28th in the Womens’ Race and helping Wales to
6th place in the Womens’ Team event, over the 37.5 kilometre
mountainous course.

In the English Championships, the series comprising six races in the
North of England, varying in length from 5 to 18 miles and in ascent
from 2500 feet to 6000 feet, after three races at Morley Clough in the
South West Pennines, the Long Mynd Valleys Race and Duddon Valley in
Cumbria, she had been in 17th place in the Womens’ Series, before a
long standing lower back injury resulted in her not being able to take
part in the most recent event at Loughrigg in the Lake District, and
she is now undergoing physiotherapy.
