With the busy spring calendar of local running events only just started, Shrewsbury Athletic Club runners have already achieved notable successes around the County, with two Club runners making debut victories for the Club. Matt Hall stormed to first place in the Lilleshall Monumental 10K Race in 36/48 in his first victory for the Club and Lauren Morley was not only first woman home in the Myddle 6 Mile multi terrain race in 46/10, her first victory for the Club, but followed that up, seven days later with victory in the Women's race at the inaugural Whitchurch 10K race in 41/42. This followed a successful winter for both runners as part of the victorious Men's and Women's teams in the North Wales Cross Country League. In the Whitchurch race, Dan Smith proved he is back to full fitness after injury, finishing 3rd in 36/33 and at Lilleshall, Lucy Grayston finished 1st in the Female Under 20 category in 48/51.

In the Midland 12 Stage Road Relays at Sutton Park, Birmingham, a strong squad of Club runners finished 27th out of 60 teams, despite being without some key runners through injury, and in so doing, qualified for the National 12 Stage Relays. The relay comprised the first four legs of 5.4 miles each and the last eight legs of 3.1 miles each and the squad times were, Matt Hall 29/52, Richard Jones 33/31, James Hickinbottom 29/45, Luke Butler 30/25, Graham Jones 19/11, Connor Middleton 17/56, Andy Lewis 21/29, Duncan Rose 22/42, Gabe Morris 17/19, Steve waters 18/36, Pete Savill 20/51 and Rob Lisney 19/10.

There was a personal best time of 3/09/13 for Grant Lloyd in the Greater Manchester Marathon, securing for him the Good for Age standard for next year's London Marathon.
