The third fixture in the Telford Sexarathon Series has taken place, with the staging of the Shropshire 4 Mile Race. Luke Butler ran a Captain's race, leading the side home in 17th place, with Kevin Francis 32nd and 2nd Veteran Over 50, Stewart Farley, having a consistent first season in the Series, 46th and Pete Savill 70th and 1st Veteran Over 60. Jacqueline Macey finished 7th in the Womens' race with her highest category placing this season, 2nd Lady Veteran Over 40.

 

On the fell running scene, three Club runners competed in the Rodney's Pillar Race, the fourth fixture in the Shropshire Summer Fell Series, with Gabe Morris 6th in 24/39, Steve Turk 23rd in 26/56 and 1st Veteran Over 45 and Gill Evans 85th in 35/33 and 1st Lady Veteran Over 55. There were further successes for the two Club runners in the Batch Bash Race, Graham Jones finishing 18th in 30/48 and 1st Veteran Over 60 and Kevin Francis 24th in 31/47 and 1st Veteran Over 50.

Matt Hall won the Gregynog Trail Race in Mid Wales in 27/13, with Steve Waters 4th in 29/30, Steve Turk 7th in 31/49 and 2nd Veteran Over 45, Haydn Jones 15th in 33/16 and 1st Veteran Over 55 and Gill Evans 29th in 39/04 and 1st Lady Veteran Over 55.

 

Stewart Farley finished 28th in the Abersoch 10K in 41/06.

A team of men and women from the Club competed successfully at a Midland Track and Field League Division 6 meeting at Telford, with both teams finishing second on the day and third overall in the Series after two fixtures. There were notable performances in the Mens' match, with victories for Paul Jones in the 3000m A race, Matt Guilder in the 3000m B race, Kevin Francis in the 3000m Steeplechase A race and Patrick McBride in the Javelin B event. In the Womens' match, victories went to Armine Dolt in the 100m A race, Eve Chidley in the 200m A race, Anna-Marie Wake in the 400m B race, Ruby Carter in the 1500m A race and the 4 x 100m relay squad. Olivia Mann achieved double success with victories in the 400m A and 800m A races.

 

There was success for Pat Higgins at the Midland Masters Track and Field Championships at Nuneaton, with Over 60 category victories in the Shot Putt, 6.34m, Hammer, 24.50m and Javelin, 13.27m. Andy Lewis finished 3rd in the Over 60 800m in a post transplant personal best time of 2/51.01 and 2nd in the Over 60 1500m in 5/46.9.
