There was success for Shrewsbury Athletic Club's men and women runners in the Severn Bridges 10K Race, with James Hickinbottom retaining his crown from last year, finishing 1st in 34/23, Lydia Carter finishing 1st Lady in 42/58 and Jenna Middleton, 3rd Lady and 2nd Lady Veteran Over 35 in 43/53. Luc Faugere was 11th in 39/55, Lucy Grayston 7th Lady in 45/52 and Michael Ingpong 75th in 48/39.

 

There were further successes in the Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon, with Paul Jones 5th in 1/11/47 and 1st Veteran Over 45 and Sara Willhoit 2nd Lady in a personal best time of 1/21/16. Other notable performances came from Steve Waters, 28th in a personal best time of 1/18/15 and Richard Jones 82nd in 1/26/36 and 3rd Veteran Over 50, while Lauren Morley finished 7th Lady in 1/28/58, a personal best time by over 5 minutes, after having broken her personal best time at the 10K mark.

 

The final fixture in the Telford Sexarathon Series took place with the staging of the Harper Scarper 5K Race in Newport. The squad were lead home by Matt Hall in 12th place in 16/53, with Luke Butler 16th in 17/11 and Connor Middleton 22nd in 17/39 and there were personal best times for Stewart Farley and Chris Hedley. The Club had two Age Category winners for the Series, with Kevin Francis 1st Veteran Over 50 and Pete Savill 1st Veteran Over 60 and other individual results for the Series included Chris Wakeman 3rd Veteran Over 55, Pete Butler 5th Veteran Over 60, Luke Butler 7th Senior Man and Stewart Farley 9th Veteran Over 35.

 

In the Spitfire 10K at RAF Cosford, Michael Thomas finished 36th in 46/08 and Duncan Rose 55th in 46/58 and 3rd Veteran Over 60.

Attention now turns to cross country, with the Club now in two leagues, having joined the North Staffordshire Cross Country League. First fixture in the North Staffs League takes place at Winsford on Saturday 30th September and the first fixture in the North Wales Cross Country League takes place at Wrexham on Saturday 7th October.
