Three Shrewsbury Athletic Club runners have represented the England Masters in the Birmingham 10K at V35, V50 and V65 level. Jim Hickinbottom finished 26th and 9th in the V35 category in 34/19, Kevin Francis finished 89th and 11th in the V50 category and Pete Savill finished 167th and 6th in the V65 category in 42/20.

 

Elsewhere on the road running scene, Jamie Lambie was 46th in the Manchester 10K in a personal best time of 33/43, breaking the 34 minute barrier for the first time, with Richard Jones 320th in 40/45. Dan Elliot finished 4th in the Worcester Half Marathon in a personal best time of 1/20/35, with Connor Middleton 14th in 1/27/51, the two athletes 1st and 2nd in the Under 23 category. Nick Bradley finished 28th in the Chester Half Marathon in 1/18/58, Colin Perry 122nd in a personal best time of 1/26/33 and Stuart Proctor clocked 1/47/27 as a pacer. Finally, Matt Wooden was 401st in the Hackney Half Marathon in 1/27/14, Rachel Parker was 1st Lady in 14th position overall in the Snowdonia Half Marathon in 1/35/28 and Simon Cole finished 97th in the Liverpool Rock n Roll Half Marathon in 1/28/42, with Colin Perry 104th in 1/28/57.

 

Off road, the Shropshire Hills Summer Series continued with the Batch Bash Fell Race, with Stuart Proctor 23rd in 32/46, Daphne Jones 57th and 1st Under 17 Girl in 37/39 and Gill Evans 86th and 1st Lady Over 55 in 41/20. Elsewhere, Andrew Birch finished 1st in the Two Lakes Trail Race in 1/30/42, Stuart Proctor was 35th in the Cader Idris Race in 1/49/45 and Calvin Hignett was 2nd in the Down to the Wyre 10K in 39/58. Michael Betts travelled to the Lake District to compete in the Old County Tops Fell Race, 37 miles and around 10,000 feet of ascent, taking in the tops of Helvellyn, Scafell Pike and Coniston, finishing 16th in 8/15/49.

 

Two teams of Club runners competed in the Attingham Park Relays, where the team of Lauren Morley 12/59, Jan Walker 16/24 and Naomi Cook 13/52 finished 4th in the All Female Relay and the team of Andy Lewis 13/41, Graham Jones 12/37 and Pete Hughes 12/19 finished 8th in the All Male Relay. First and second fastest Male Over 60 times on the night went to Graham Jones and Andy Lewis respectively.
