A large contingent of runners from Shrewsbury Athletic Club competed in the Mid Cheshire 5K Race, a fast 5K course in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, which has become a favourite race for those seeking personal best times and the runners were rewarded when seven of the ten competing did just that. Led home by in form Matt Hall in 20th place in a personal best time of 15/31, there were also personal bests for Luke Butler, Steve Waters, Rob Fox, Stewart Farley, Keith Austin and Simon Cole. Lauren Morley finished 47th in the Women's Race in 20/09.

Men: 20 Matt Hall 15/31(PB), 91 Luke Butler 16/46(PB), 94 Steve Waters 16/48(PB), 96 Rob Fox 16/51(PB), 116 Connor Middleton 17/18, 139 Richard Mckenna 17/32, 187 Stewart Farley 18/07(PB), 241 Keith Austin 18/51(PB), 271 Simon Cole 19/37(PB). Women: 47 Lauren Morley 20/09.

 

Gill Evans was the sole Club representative in the Ragleth Fell Race, the final fixture of the Shropshire Summer Hill Race Series, where she finished 85th in 44/53, 1st Lady Veteran Over 55 on the night and, as a result, the winner of the Category crown for the Series for the third year in a row.

 

There was success for James Hickinbottom in the British Masters Athletic Federation Open Track and Field Championships at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, where he finished 2nd in the Veteran Over 35 Javelin event with a personal best throw of 40.53 metres, his first time over 40 metres.
